Introductions and local haunts!

hello everyone!

In this post we could all just say a little bit about ourselves such as the areas we live in philadelphia, music we like, favorite drinks and so on. This way we will get a better idea of where everyone is so planning some meetups will be closer and easier for everyone in the future!

Also if you have a good 'local' pub or haunt you think the rest of us might like, then let us know! and maybe we can arrange to meet there soon. :)


I'll go first,

I am 22, from Melbourne, I live in south philadelphia near the italian market.
I like rock/alternative music mostly but pretty much like everything.
My favorite drink is beer (ofcourse) and i sorely miss VB, and carlton draught. Here in the US i often drink Yuengling.
I dont really have a local pub that I attend often, but I have gone to the pubs in the Penn university campus area before.

Welcome back to US!
I haven't had a chance to get together with the Aussie meetup group yet, but I'm really excited to do it!

Well, let me introduce myself, first of all:

I'm Dani, 25 from Brazil, and I have been in US for about 2 years, almost.I'm an Au pair and I came over here pretty much to learn the language and travel around, so it's been a great time. I live in Main Line area (Gladwyne, close by Manayunk).
My favorite sort of music is rock and roll (classic rock), hard rock and 90's (grunge and alternative). But I also looove Brazilian music and other different type of music.
As a good Brazilian, I really enjoy a well-done Caipirinha, and beer! Of course!

I like a place in South Philly, this is a coffee place on 9th street, between South and Bainbridge street, I just needed to find the name of this place out. It might be a good suggestion, once this place is really decent!

I'm Helaine, I live in downtown Lancaster, or sometimes with Leigh in Philly.

I'm from Melbourne, here to go to school for illustration. I'm not sure if I want to live here once I'm done with school, but I would definitely like to travel more and see places that are more interesting than Lancaster.

I'm not a beer drinker (or any kind of drinker really), but I like live music and going out a lot. I also like comic books, animals and skateboarding.

Hi, I'm Felicity and I live in New Jersey about 20 minutes from Philadelphia.

I'm from Melbourne (Middle Park) but have moved to the US for work for 12 months. Although I miss my family and friends dearly, I'm starting to enjoy life here in the US, especially as we move into Summer, I've had nothing but winters for 6 months straight!

I enjoy music, travelling, sport (not US sports...sorry) & the outdoors, whether that be playing tennis, golf, roller blading, hiking, running, walking, etc or watching my beloved Hawks play at the 'G'. BTW, I can't believe I'm here and not watching them win all their games so far this season :( If we make the GF, I'll be heading home for that, even if I'm only away for the weekend...will definitely be worth it!!
